The Cub Pack

The Irene Cub pack has approximately 36 boys ranging in age from 7 to 10½. The Cub pack is run by 2 uniformed and fully qualified adult volunteers, and numerous non-uniformed helpers. The Cub programme aims to instill into young boys a sense of belonging, a sense of adventure and a want and need to learn more about the world around us. The Cub pack is split into small teams known as sixes, each six has between five and eight boys of various ages. The most senior boy in the six is known as the sixer and is the leader of the six.

The Cubs work toward numerous interest badges as well as four advancement badges. Each advancement badge is more challenging then the last. When a Cub turns 10½ he can choose to go up to the Scout troop.
