More Boring Stuff

This page provides all the information that the other pages don't supply. Stuff like standard kit lists, consent forms, health forms, etc.

1. Full Scout Uniform  9th Irene Air Scouts has a proud history of having one of the best uniforms in the Scouting family. Our uniform is as follows:

  • Sky blue shirt (available from Scout Shop) with correct badges.
  • Navy blue shorts with belt loops (available from Scout Shop). Patrol Leaders and above wear long Navy blue chinos (Woolworths sells nice ones)
  • Long black socks (available from Scout Shop)
  • Black school shoes (Scouts are allowed to wear brown ones if they are in Primary School)
  • Navy blue Scout belt (available from Scout Shop)
  • Black beret with standard Scout badge (available from Scout Shop). Patrol Leaders receive a large Scout badge for their beret.
  • Standard Irene scarf with black woggle (available from Scout Shop). Scouts who have been on PLTU wear the Lexden woggle.
2. Standard kit list This is a recommend kit list for camps (The person organising the camp or hike will give you the real kit list):

  • Complete Scout Uniform
  • Groundsheet
  • Sleeping Bag
  • PJ's
  • Spare underwear
  • Clothes to wear at camp
  • Spare socks
  • Something warm
  • Tackies or Sandals (If a hike then Tackies or Hiking Boots, preferably Hiking Boots)
  • Swimming Costume
  • Towel
  • Toilet Bag (Soap, comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, face cloth)
  • Raincoat or Dry Mac
  • Draw string mess bag (Two plates, mug, knife, fork, spoon, teaspoon)
  • Dish cloth
  • Notebook and pen/pencil
  • Torch and spare batteries
  • Any medication
Additional equipment that might be useful

  • Repair bag containing needles, cotton, buttons and safety pins
  • Pocket first aid kit
  • Waterproof matches
  • Thin wire
  • Scout Knife
  • Compass
  • Water Bottle
  • Musical instrument if you play one
  • Camera and films
Suggested camp equipment (Up to camp organiser to decide):

  • Sleeping Tent
  • Storage tent if possible
  • Screening for toilets
  • Spade
  • Lamps with repair kits and spares
  • Hand Axe
  • Felling axe if required
  • Bow saw
  • First Aid Box
  • Flag with pole
  • Matches, candles, washing soap, steel wool
  • Bog roll
  • Table top or trestle table
  • Two wash bowels and bucket
  • Large Dixie or urn for boiling water
  • Two medium cooking pots (billies)
  • Two small cooking pots (billies)
  • Frying pan
  • Plastic container with lid
  • Grid
  • Cooking utensils
  • Salt and pepper
  • Dish cloths
  • Broom
  • Games box
  • Ropes and spars for gadgets
  • String for marking kitchen area, etc.
  • Any other equipment needed
